A Note from Our President - Gail Huff
As we bring another year to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the Florida Irrigation Society this past year. Whether it was renewing your membership, joining for the first time, attending the Water Summit, organizing a new chapter, or volunteering to serve on the State or local Board, every member makes a difference.
As we prepare to close out 2025, our membership numbers are increasing, we have a strong Board that is ready to lead in 2026, and our finances are holding steady. We are already making plans to celebrate our 60th anniversary at the Water Summit in Orlando next summer and with the proposal of Senate Bill 508, irrigation may finally get some long overdue recognition. While the bill isn’t perfect, it is a starting point and for the first time in our history, people in Tallahassee may finally realize the importance of what we do and how valuable our water resources truly are. There has never been a better time to be a member of FIS and to get more involved at the State or local level.
